Zermatt Resort & Spa and Salt Lake City

Continuing from the last post on San Francisco.

Day 4, we drove Las Vegas and stayed there for two nights (Shall cover on Las Vegas at the end) before we start our drive towards Salt Lake City, Utah. Day 6, we started our journey driving towards Park City, Zermatt Resort & Spa.

The resort was located around the corner of Park City and the largest mountain resort in North America, a half an hour drive from downtown Salt Lake City. Here's the summary of our stay in Zermatt Resort.

Love the joyous name !

Checking into our cosy room with two queen size beds, basic amenities provided,

the room was also equipped with cooking stoves and kitchen sink !

Wildfire Smoke Haus

Food at Wildfire Smoke Haus was pretty awesome too !

I did not really get a chance to explore the resort as I was away for my trainings most of the time. Don had a chance and went to Z's Steak & Chop Haus located within the resort and he was simply in love with their pork chops ! Till date, he tells me no pork chops can be of their match ! Now I'm hoping I do have a chance to return for a try !

Just right beside,

The bakery

The pastry and wraps were really delectable !

Wide selection of pastry, sandwiches, cakes .......

Another reason why I love this resort? It provides FREE WIFI within the vicinity of the resort. I could contact Don with much convenience on watsapp. The connection was way much better than anywhere else.

On the first day at Zermatt Resort, we planned to check out the vicinity and came across Adventure Haus. Feeling adventurous, we thought it would be a good experience and hence, rented a Razor for a 2 hours self-drive up the mountains.

We made a U-turn back to the resort once before we reached the point as shown below. Personally, I feel that the directions on the map did not seem to tally with what we came to, markings around the surrounding were not very clear too or did we missed them out ?

A couple who were about to leave Adventure Hauz was nice to allow us to follow behind them as they led the way.

Happy, jumpy shot ! (Photo taken with Canon Power Shot SX530 HS)

We were greeted with nature surrounding us along the way, nothing more than the sound of the engine and tranquillity when the engine's off and the unlimited supply of fresh air and the clear blue sky ! Frankly speaking, I did not know which part of the park we were at. We just kept on driving till help was available.

I have not been driving for years. To think that I have the chance to co-drive with Don as Vera was so sticky to the daddy !

Spotted some remaining snow on the peaks

Too comfy with the wind blowing against her face as we drove, she fell asleep.

On several moments, Vera was really cranky but these beautiful dandelions managed to pacify her !

She loved the soft touch of it and was amazed to see the downy tufts float in the air when she blew at them.

Finally, we drove to a point where we finally spotted some restrooms and saw this signboard. As such, we went into Cascade Springs to take a quick walk since we accidentally chanced upon this place.

We carried on driving and reached to the point below and saw a park ranger.

Informed him that we were lost and he was nice to lead us to the next returning point.
While the men were talking, I took the opportunity for a few more snaps.

The surrounding scenery were simply breath-taking.

Took some shots when we finally found our way out and made our way back to the resort.

About an hour's ride on the coach, it ferried us from Zermatt Resort to Grand America Hotel located at downtown Salt Lake City, for the welcome dinner hosted by Young Living, for all the leaders who came for the retreat.

Training started the next day.

This was really awesome to the max ! Free flow of Ningxia Red shots with the choice of our favourite oil to perk us up !

Lunch break was completed with some shopping near City Creek Centre :

50 Main St,
Salt Lake City, UT 84144,
United States

and sight-seeing around the 10-acre Temple Square. The Cheesecake Factory was located within the vicinity of City Creek Centre too !

And while I was away, Don took the kids for a swim at the 55-foot tall, beehive-shaped limestone rock, known as the Crater, across the street from Zermatt.
